Gooey Butter Cake
This gooey butter cake tastes just like the butter cake from Mastro’s Steakhouse restaurant and if I’ve ever given you restaurant recommendations, the butter cake at Mastro’s always makes the cut.
I found this gooey butter cake recipe flipping through an old spiralbound recipe book that was given to my mother by the old gals at the Baptist Church. I also assume they were old because they had names like Velma and Gerlene. Anyways, I made this gooey butter cake as directed by Velma in the cookbook, and I was blown away. I immediately shoved a fork full into Jacob’s face and made him try it. He was also blown away
While no topping is absolutely necessary, a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top is to-die-for. When made in bar form, a little drizzle of caramel never hurt anyone. Feel free to bake as directed by Velma in a 9x13 baking dish for 40 minutes.
